A Black teenager Peckham rapist Tamoy Bailey who sexually assaulted an 18-year-old lady in South London has received a five-year prison sentence. The victim implored you to cease, to which you responded: Do I appear to be concerned?
Tamoy Bailey, now 18 but 16 at the time, perpetrated the assault at a location in Peckham in March of the previous year after encountering the victim earlier that day.
The woman was summoned to the residence, and upon her arrival, Bailey confined her in the bathroom.
The court heard that Tamoy Bailey verbally abused her before committing rape.
The 16-year-old subsequently threatened her with a knife, declaring he would stab her if she refused to engage in sexual intercourse with him.
Following the assault, the woman successfully exited the premises and reached a secure location, where she promptly contacted the police to report the incident.
Tamoy Bailey, residing on Hastings Close in Peckham, was apprehended on April 2 and charged with rape and false imprisonment, both offences pertaining to the same victim.
On Tuesday, he received a five-year prison sentence with a two-year parole extension because of the threat he presents to potential victims. He received a concurrent three-year sentence for wrongful imprisonment.
In remarks to the Inner London Crown Court, Judge Donne stated: The victim implored you to cease, to which you responded, Do I appear to care? This demonstrated your disposition towards her.
Your concern for her was negligible; your primary want was sexual gratification, and you were prepared to take any measures to get it.
He also asserted that Tamoy Bailey posed a considerable threat to public safety.
Detective Constable Jake Good, of the Metropolitan Police’s Central South safeguarding squad, stated: Tamoy Bailey is a violent sexual offender and poses a continuing threat to women. He exhibited great arrogance and believed he could evade consequences for raping the young woman.
