Currently known as Andrew Groves, Andrew Thomason was arrested on December 20, 2018, for making sexually inappropriate remarks in an online chat room.
Lincolnshire Police later confiscated the 58-year-old’s belongings and searched his house and car.
He was let go while his items were still under examination.
Earlier this year, Thomason showed up at Lincoln Crown Court on April 14 and was found guilty of two counts of trying to have a female aged 13 or over participate in penetrative sexual activity.
His conviction followed court procedural delays brought on by COVID-19.
When Thomason appeared for sentencing on Wednesday, July 19, he was informed he would spend three years behind bars. He was stationed at RAF Cranwell at the time of his arrest. Additionally, he was given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
