Medway registered sex offender who kept targeting young girls online has been arrested.

Following his conviction on June 1, 2022, of sex offences involving minors, Alfie Murray became the focus of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

This covered contacting the authorities should he acquire an online-enabled gadget or engage in unsupervised contact with a minor under sixteen years of age. He also had to let a police official examine his equipment and let monitoring software be fitted.

Kent Police was called in October 2023 by another agency that had gotten a complaint from a female regarding offensive remarks she had come across online from a man.

Investigators later found Murray as the perpetrator using usernames “Klown.7010” and “Alfiemilwall85”. Until she stopped him from getting in touch with her, he had requested inappropriate photographs, threatened her, and caused her great misery.

Murray was arrested on January 4, 2024; during a police investigation of his house, they found evidence he had been contacting several other minors and undeclared internet-enabled equipment.

Murray, of Queens Road, Gillingham, was subsequently accused and pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court to six charges of violating his SHPO, one count of breaching his sex offender reporting requirements and one count of communicating sexually with a child.

Thursday, 30 May, saw the 32-year-old convicted to three years in jail. This included activating a suspended sentence, and he will have to serve eighteen months in prison, with the remaining to be served on license.
