Another BBC paedophile has pleaded guilty to child rape and sexual assault.
Well-known former broadcaster and TV personality Huw Edwards admitted today (31 July 2024) to have created obscene photos of youngsters.
Edwards, 62, had three charges of creating obscene photos of children found guilty at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Between December 16, 2020, and August 14, 2021, Edwards conducted online chats with an adult man who had first contacted him on social media. Police have found a series of WhatsApp conversations between the two where Edwards obtained sexually explicit images. Of the roughly 377 photos received, 41 were pornographic images of children, ranging in seriousness from most to least severe.
In other words, he owned children and babies being raped and tortured.
Claire Brinton of the Crown Prosecution Service said: “Accessing indecent photos of underage persons perpetuates the sexual exploitation of children, which has significant, long-lasting effects on these victims.
“Edwards was getting illicit material involving children via WhatsApp, which the CPS and the Metropolitan Police were able to verify.
“This prosecution makes it abundantly clear that working with the police, the CPS will seek to bring to justice those who seek to exploit children, wherever that abuse occurs.”
