A paedophile who raped a seven-year-old child while she slept has been imprisoned for his horrific child sex crimes.
Over the past three decades, 57-year-old Leslie Winfindale has carried on without regret for his deeds; his victim has spent her life traumatised.
Winfindale of Vale Road, Thrybergh, showed no inclination to admit his guilt of raping a seven-year-old girl as she slept during his arrest, interview, and trial.
After the agony and suffering of knowing her rapist avoided punishment became too much for Winfindale’s victim—who is granted lifelong anonymity—bravely came forward to speak with police in 2022.
Winifindale was taken into custody and later accused of the rape of a female under sixteen in 2023.
Winfindale made his victim go through a trial at Sheffield Crown Court, where she had to relive the horrific crimes of her assailant while still not owning any guilt for them.
The jury judged Winfindale guilty after four hours and thirteen minutes of deliberation.
Winfindale received one year of extended licence and a nine-year prison sentence. He will be registered lifetime on the sex offenders’ list.
