Martin Harvey of Rugby has been sentenced to two years in prison for breaking a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) by downloading roughly a thousand obscene pictures of young boys and girls being raped and sexually assaulted.
Following a past sexual crime, 66-year-old Martin Harvey of Rugby’s Ferndown Road was under police and probationary supervision.
He broke his SHPO when it was found in 2023 that he had erased part of his internet surfing records.
Additionally discovered was a hard disc with approximately a thousand pornographic pictures of youngsters.
And when police questioned Harvey, he said he had erased browsing history on his phone since he had been experiencing problems with “pop ups” and thought that could help.
Then, he claimed to have purchased the hard drive to investigate methods of restoring his search history.
Later on, he was accused of violating his SPHO and of downloading obscene pictures of children.
Harvey came before Warwick Crown Court on Wednesday, May 29, and was imprisoned for twenty-four months.
