A deviant paedophile Richard Cooke has been incarcerated today (December 5) for violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Richard Cooke, 56, of unspecified residence, received a two-year sentence.
The court was informed that Richard Cooke violated his Sexual Harm Prevention Order on 29 February of this year in Barrow while on interim licence.
This violation pertained to the stipulation of his order, which forbids any unsupervised contact or communication, including through the internet or mobile phone, with any male kid under the age of 16 years, except for:
(a) such as is inadvertent and not reasonably avoidable in the course of lawful daily life
(b) with the explicit consent of the child’s parent or guardian, who has knowledge of his criminal convictions or
(c) with the express written permission of the Social Services for the area you are residing
Detective Constable Dan Chadwick the investigating officer from the MOSOVO team said: “Richard Cooke was fully aware of the terms of the Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed against him when he formed a friendship with a child and had unsupervised contact.
“I would like to thank the family for their support, who were unaware of Richard Cooke’s order.
“Their support helped to ensure he was held accountable for his actions.
“We work hard to monitor and manage people who are subject to such orders.
“Like in this case, we will find out if they breach the terms of these preventative orders and take swift action to ensure that our communities are safe.”
