Sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court was a registered sex offender, Steven Baker, who conversed with what he thought to be a 12-year-old female.
Found guilty of online sexual offences for engaging in sexual conversations with a minor and many breaches of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, Steven Baker, 57, from Ely, Cardiff, was sentenced to 22 months in jail.
In June 2023, Baker was found and detained by police from the Tarian Regional Organised Crime Unit and South Wales Police. Later on, he was charged and sent into detention to wait for trial. Such was the degree of proof against him, a guilty plea to all charges entered.
Baker was found to have spoken with an undercover police agent, thinking she was a 12-year-old girl.
